Before you share your story

let me tell you mine...

Hi, and welcome!

I’m Charlotte, owner and photographer of Rosie & Lily Photography. I’m so happy that you have found your way here.

I started Rosie & Lily Photography just after having my second daughter, Lily, in October 2020. I realised how quickly time was passing by, and I didn't want to forget any of it. Those first few weeks when you are in that 'newborn bubble' are just incredible. You find yourself just staring at them, wondering how they are so perfect. My first daughter, Rosie, was born in 2017, and looking back now, it has made me realise just how she didn't stay small for long, and now she is a sassy, clever, independent, beautiful little girl. Lily is slowly following in her big sister's footsteps (if not being just that little bit more sassier).

The sessions I offer include newborns, maternity, older babies, sitter/milestone, cake smash, family, and pet sessions. I have worked with children for 14 years in different sectors, including nurseries and schools, and have a large amount of experience working closely with them and understanding them. But I have to say that this job is the best job I have ever had. I don't treat it as 'work', because when you are so happy to do what I do, it's not a job. I absolutely love being a photographer and capturing those special memories, whether your little ones are teeny tiny newborns or cheeky 5-year-old toddlers.

So now that I've got the 'professional' introduction out of the way, I thought I would also give you a true insight into who I am, because if we are going to be working closely together, you might as well get to know me a little better first.

So I'm originally from Manchester but moved over to Liverpool in 2013 as I went to LJMU, and then moved over to the Wirral in 2015 and haven't looked back. This does mean that my accent is all over the place; it doesn't help that some of my family also live in Yorkshire, so I've got a mad Liverpool/Manc/Yorkshire accent going on, so if you can't understand me sometimes, I'm so sorry ha!

I was recently diagnosed with ADHD at the beginning of 2023, and my god, that was a long time coming. As you will probably tell from when we start chatting when you are wanting to book in, and especially when you come for your session, I do not shut up! I'm a complete chatterbox, and I overshare probably far too much of my life, but it is with all good intentions, I promise. Because I want everyone to feel super comfortable at their sessions, I just talk about all sorts of nonsense. 90% of you probably know my whole life, but from that, I have created so many amazing friendships through it too.

I think that might be enough for now because you're probably super bored with reading, and to be honest, I don't blame you. But I hope that I am able to capture all of those special memories for you, and I look forward to meeting you very soon!

Love, Charlotte

The Studio

When you have booked in for your session, if it is for a newborn photoshoot then this will be for soon after your baby is born. The first few weeks are the hardest as this is where you are adjusting to a new bundle of joy joining your family, the sleepless nights and the endless nappy changes. With this in mind, Charlotte has created a warm, cosy and comfortable studio, with an atmosphere that you can simply relax in and put your feet up on a large sofa with a hot cuppa and some biscuits. As a mum of 2 children, Charlotte understands exactly how tough those first few weeks of parenthood can be, so if you feel like you need to catch up on 30 minutes of sleep then please feel free to. Being comfortable within the studio is super important, and Charlotte wants you to feel fully at home.

Everything that you may need is provided - a perfect prep machine, hot or cold water to cool or warm baby's bottles, fully stacked changing table, numerous cups of tea and coffee, and even some delicious biscuits to enjoy. Charlotte also has a small selection of toys and books for older children to enjoy and keep entertained with.

The studio is filled with an array of props, from little wooden containers, to outfits and headbands. You will be asked beforehand if you have any favourites so Charlotte can make sure you love the finished images. Charlotte will happily recreate poses where she can, but in a way that is unique to your session, simply because no two babies are the same, so no two sets of images will be either. If you have a special keepsake that you would like to include in an image, do please bring it with you and Charlotte will try to include them in an image to make them even more special. Because for many images your baby will be unwrapped, Charlotte makes sure the studio is kept nice and warm for their comfort, so please do make sure you come dressed in layers incase you wish to cool off.
